History of Harvest Christian Center
Harvest Christian Center (originally opened as Maranatha Worship Center) was started in 1988 by Rev. Bobby Nott. The congregation had their first service on July 10th of that same year at the original location of 1577 Second St., Corning, CA. Rev. Tim Scarbrough followed in 1992 and led the congregation for the next four years. During this time the name was officially changed to its current name 'Harvest Christian Center'. On August 25, 1996, Rev. Robert D. Kee, his wife Belinda and their 11 year old son Robert came to Corning to preach for the local congregation. Just two weeks later on September 8th, Rev. Kee was appointed as the Sr. Pastor by a 100% vote from the church membership. Twenty-eight (28) members were in attendance for that meeting which was moderated by District Overseer, Rev. Bill Phillips of the Redding Church of God.
Rob and Belinda Kee followed the road of God's will to a little town called Corning. God has provided growth, health, miracles and many wonderful relationships within the local body of Christ here at Harvest Christian Center. Pastor Rob together with his wife Belinda and their children Robert and Lauren, and many qualified ministers are privileged to be a part of discipling and developing individuals into their full potential through the Power of the Holy Spirit and the revelation knowledge of His Word, Jesus Christ. To be a functioning part of God's work is in itself a reward, but to have the privilege of influencing the lives of those around you and partnering with them in the edifying, equipping and perfecting of the Body of Christ for the Evangelism of the lost is a reward beyond words.
On February 24, 2008, Pastor Rob and Belinda Kee passed the mantle of the ministry of Harvest Christian Center to Pastor Mike and Stephanie Sharp. The Sharps first Sunday was March 2, 2008. They are planning to continue to minister of the goodness of God and strive to see Corning won for Christ. Harvest Christian Center will continue to disciple people to become Completed Worshipers unto Him.
